sweet potatoes in a casserole.
Make it this way:
HAM WITH SWEET
POTATOES
1-pound slice of ham
2 medium sweet potatoes,
pared
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup hot water
Cut ham in serving pieces
and brown lightly in a fry
pan. Place the ham in a
baking dish. Slice the sweet
potatoes over it, and sprinkle
with brown sugar. Add water
to drippings. Pour over sweet
potatoes. Cover. Bake at 350
degrees about 45 minutes,
basting occasionally with the
1 quid. Remove cover to
brown the last 15 minutes.
Makes four servings.
With this you might like
to serve broccoli, crisp cel
ery, and fruit chiffon pie
cranberry or applesauce chif
fon for example.

SAVORY HAM PIE
3 tablespoons chopped
onion
V* cup chopped green pep
per
V* cup fat
6 tablespoons flour

chicken soup
V/3 cups milk
IVfc cups diced cooked ham
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 recipe Cheese Biscuit
dough
Saute onion and green pep
per in fat, stir in flour, add
soup and milk and cook un
til thickened. Add ham and
lemon juice, mix and pour
into greased baking dish
Roll out biscuit dough on
floured board, cut with
doughnut cutter and arrange
on top of ham mixture. Bake
in hot oven (450 degreees) 15
minutes, reduce heat to 425
degrees and bake 10 minutes
longer. Serves 6.
