Estimated slaughter for the week end is 550,000 head. The market opened Mon day with reduced offerings to an unsettled demand. As the week progressed demand was only fair as the offerings re mained down. Prices on Mon day ranged from 15.5 to 16 9. The broiler feed ratio for -the week ending October 16 was up one point over the previous week at 3 5. Broil ers averaged 15.61 and mash sold at $88.40 per ton. For the comparable week last year the ratio was 3.3 with broilers at 15.55 and mash selling for $93.70 per tan. Georgia closed with 2,509,- 000 head at prices ranging from 15 7 to 16 2. Estimated slaughter for the weekend is 1,325,000 compared to 1,605,- 000 last week. Birds not priced prior to the sale at farms were 15 5 to 16 with 99% going for 15.- New England.
