'Bigness' Problem Faces Egg Co-ops, NEPPCO Parley Finds WASHINGTON, D. C. The same poultry industry trends that are forcing production into the hands of fewer, but larger producers are at work in poultry and egg mar keting organizations, it was agreed here this week by rep resentatives of farm cooperatives from the 14 northeastern states. More than 25 poultry and egg cooperative organiza tions were represented in the two-day conference, held under the sponsorship of the Division of Cooperatives of the Northeastern Poultry Producers Council (NEPP CO) at the Willard Hotel. Assisting in the annual win ter business management workshop was the Farmer Cooperative Service of the U. S. Dept, of Agriculture. The trend toward “big ness” in the poultry industry is one that can be expected to be intensified in the years ahead, the cooperative dele gates agreed.
