First County Market Hog Show Slated For Mar. 3rd The Lancaster County Swine Producer Assn, has released information about the first County Market Hog Show and Sale to be held on March 3rd at Lancster Union Stock Yards. Kenneth Skiles, association secretary, has announced that information concerning the sale has been sent tcT“stll as sociation members. “Lancaster county ranks first in Pennsylvania in the number of fat hogs market ed; we feel that we could have a real good mark et hog shown if the produc ers will supported. We are trying to improve the swine industry here in the county and feel there are many things to be learned from this type of event,” Skiles said. There will be classes for Berkshire, Chester White, Duroc-Jersey, Hampshire, Landrace, Poland China, Spotted Poland and York shire breeds. Show classes will be single barrows, 180-210 lbs. and 211 - 240 lbs; pen of three 180- 210 and 211-240; truckload, any breed, ten head averag ing 180-210 and 211-240. . Entries must be farrowed after August 1, 1958 and owned by exhibitor at least 30 days prior to the show. Exhibitor may enter any number in a class, but only two may place. There will be no entry fees, but membership in Lancaster County Swine Pro ducers Assn, is required of all exhibitors.
