Luke Bubaker
Luke is the 1 8-year-old son
of Mr and Mrs. Elam R. Bru
baker, Mt. Joy RD 1. The fa
mily operation includes two
farms “and some land be
sides”, totaling 130 acres. He
is president of Witness Oak
chapter of Donegal high
school and County FFA re
porter.
His present FFA program
includes- baby beeves; four
acres of tobacco (with his fa
ther), and two acres of
squash (with his brother),
and he was in the acre of
corn contest.
He was president of the
school chorus and is a two
year member of the state
FFA chorus. He won the Pio
neer Acre chapter corn con
test in 1957, attended the
American Institute of Coop
eration and has exhibited
beeves at Harrisburg and
Timonium.

Kenneth Groff
Kenneth is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Earl L. Groff,
Strasburg RD 1, and a sen
ior in Lampeter-Strasburg
high school. He is secretary
of the Garden Spot chapter
and plans, to enter farming
full time with his father on
the 110-acre family dairy
farm.
He has been active in ath
letics, class plays and other
school activities as well as
FFA.

Operating a strong farming
program, this year he has 21
fattening hogs, a sow and
litter, a gilt, IV2 acres of to
bacco, an acre of corn and
three fattening steers. Last
year his program included 20
steers and two baby beeves.
This scholarship opportunity Is open
to young men and women residing within
PP&I/s service area. Each scholarship
grantee will receive $5OO toward tuition
annually at any of 15 colleges and univer-

son of Mr. and Mrs. James T.
Miller, Christiana RD 1. The
family includes three daugh

the 170-acre farm.
Kenneth’s projects include:
three sows, two heifers, one
cow, 150 layers and 15 fat
tening hogs. His stated arabi
-tion is. to become a farmer.
Along with his project pro
gram he is chapter reporter
and was assistant president.
He is a student council mem
ber, presideijt of the Kirk
wood 4-H Club and active in
