Parity Ratio Drops One Point to 83 During the month ended Julj 15, the index of prices received by farmers dropped one point, mainly due to lower prices for apples, peaches, cantaloupe, wat ei melons, and wheat. Partially offsetting were season al increases in prices for milk and eggs. The index of prices paid by farmers for commodities and serv ices at mid-July was the same on July 15 as a month earlier. Thus, with farm product prices lower in June, and farm cost rates unchanged, the parity ratio dropped one point to 83, the same as the revised ratio for July of last year. Lloyd M. Portable shade shelter and mist spray shower arrangements to cool the animals are available commercially, he says. They op erate on about two gallons of wat er an hour throwing a fine mist of cool water over the hogs. Sellards says shade alone won't do the trick. Water has to be sup plied in some form for cooling. When used as a roof, aluminum is an excellent heat reflector and thus helps keep the animals cool.
