    Heavy Offerings Depress Broiler
Prices; 20 Cents DelMarYa Top
With offerings heavy at the be
ginning of the week, broiler
prices continued down. The
lange at the Tuesday auction of
the Eastern Shore Poultry Grow
ers Exchange was from 19.1 to
20 cents.
Earlier in the week the price
had been as high as 21 cents for
some birds in the Del Marva area
Last week the broiler-feed ratio
in the DelMarVa area stayed
steady at 41 with feed prices
sharing a decline with broilers.
The average for the week was
20.28 cents a pound for broilers
and $99.82 a ton for feed.
A year ago the ratio was 4.8
with a broiler average of 22.37
cents and a feed cost of $94.14 a
ton

DELMARVA: Market steady Qffer
ings heavy. Demand fair to good.
Prices paid up to 10 a m. Tuesday
were from 20 to 21 cents. Only 134,000
head were sold with 43 per cent at 20
cents, eight per cent at 20 1, 17 per
cent at 20V4. four per cent at 20 4,
four per cent at 20 5, 10 per cent at
20 6, seven per cent at 21 cents and
seven per ent undetercmmed

quirements at some points, while

SHENANDOAH VALLEY. Demand

needs. Most processors have their re
quirements hooked until the last of
the week. Prices were from 19 to 20
cents for the 168,000 head sold. Fifty
four per cent of the sales were at 19
cents, three per cent at 19 V*, four per
cent at 19Vfc, three per cent at 20
ents, and the rest undetermined.
