C Wine, 5970 Geneva Dr, East Petersburg, a former missionary to Africa, sp'oke on the smnary to Africa, spoke on the theme of “Mothers” at a recent meeting of Farm Women 6 in the Social Room of the Chuch of God, Elizabethtown. A local quartet, the Etonettes, gave special music and a 92-year cld mother, Mrs. Annie Good, gave a reading. Gifts were given the oldest Fiolher, mother with the most children, youngest mother and to the mother with the youngest child. Members called a special meet ing for May 15 to make cancer packs for the Lancaster Chapter. Mrs. Amos Brandt led the de votions and the flag salute. The members are, Nancy Den hnger, Elouise Denhnger, Joan Barge, Nancy Groff, Maran Herr, Joan Martin, Louise Wenger Joyce Hershey, Judy Loar, Kath ryn Fenmnger, and Kathy Ho ober. The advisor of the group is Miss Miriam Leaman. The local leaders are Mis. Elmer Zimmerman and members of Society 22. Luncheon was served to 28 members and approximately 26 guests. Hostesses were Mrs. El vm. Keener, Mrs Amos Brandt, Mrs. Norman Shank and Mrs. Daniel Eshleman. Matz Denver Lancaster Farming, Friday, May 16, 1958—11 Type 41 Tobacco Stocks Decline 16 Per Cent From April 1, 1957 Stocks of Type 41 tobacco as of April 1 were down 2 4 mil lion pounds from the same date last year, based on lha quarterly reports of dealers and manufac turers. This is a decrease of about 16 per cent. Puerto Rican filler stocks, how ever, showed a three million pound increase from a year ago. Including tobacco held on the Island, there are 57,311,000 pounds of Puerto Rican being held. THE TOBACCO industry as a whole showed less stock on hand with an increase being made in only two categories Domestic wrapper was up by nine per cent, and stocks of for eign grown cigarette leaf con tinued their climb and now stand at a record high level FLUE - CURED stocks were down seven per cent, the mosfe „ Landis Bros.
