1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons Vinegar
1 scant teaspoon salt
Dash or more of ground
cloves
Enough water for one jar
Cook syrup for several minu
tes and pour over cantaloupes
Cook 45 minutes Hope you like
this recipe
Take it from the teenagers
if it passes their rigid standards
this ground beef special is bound
to be good. Serve this ground
beef special for a light supper or
as an after-the-game stand-by.
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons lard or drip
pings
Vi cup chopped onion
Vj cup green pepper strips,
1 can (10% ounces) condens
ed mushroom soup
% cup milk
Vz teaspoon salt
4 English muffins, split and
toasted
' Paprika
Cook onion and green pepper
in lard or drippings until tend
er. Add ground beef and cook
until crumbly and brown but not
hard. Pour off drippings. Com
bine soup, milk and salt and add
to beef mixture. Cook until heat
ed through, about 5 minutes.
Serve on toasted English muf
fins. Sprinkle with paprika.
Makes four servings.
