2 Lancaster Farming, Friday, May 24, 1957 Broilers Average 20.89 Cents At Lancaster Exchange Wednesday LANCASTER David Miller, Elizabethtown, topped the Wed nesday auction at the Lancaster Poultry Exchange selling a lot ol 450 Red Vantress to Carl Risser lor 2144 cents. The birds were nine weeks, five days old. The average at the sale was 20 89 cents with 28,315' of 38,315 birds offered being sold. Broilers made up 26,700 of thg total. Low price paid for broilers was 20y 2 cents. In addition to the broilers, 940 Leghorn fowl sold for 13% cents, 175 heavy fowl sold for 20 cents and 500 capettes sold for 25 cents. There are 75,000 birds listed for the sale today. LANCASTER Broiler prices were steady, averaging 21.07 ■cents, at the Lancaster Poultry Exchange Friday. Eighteen lots, 81,800 broilers were sold.
