Mrs. August Splinter gave a talk and* showed slides on her trip to the Panama Canal. The next meeting will be a Mother-Daughter banquet at 6:30 p. m. May 8 at Miller’s Restau rant.' Thirty-four members respond ed to the roll call with “Now is the time to . ” Mrs. R. F. Eshleman, presi dent, presided. The society voted to contribute $lO to the Lan caster County Society for Crippled Children and Adults. The group will participate • later in the summer in entertain ing the miagrant workers. Misses Macybelle and Julianne Erb sang several selections. Mr., and Mrs. Donald Reist, re cently returned - from Europe -spoke of their work lhere under the auspices of the Mennonite Central Committee. Wednes day at the First Presbyterian Church, 136 East Orange St., Lancaster. The day will open with a fash ion show. The women participat ing are the ones who have com pleted their garments in the clothing construction course. Miss Henrietta Makoid, a beauty consultant for Richard Hudnuit will give a demonstra tion on beauty and grooming. . Next will be a demonstration of the new electronic range given by representatives of the Pennsylvania Power and Light Co. - Highlighting the afternoon session wil be a speech by Wil liam Gordon, rural sociologist at The Pennsylvania State Univer sity.
