ed a uniform price of $4 40 cwt
(46 5 quarts) for milk delivered
in September to 383 plants in
the New York milkshed. The
uniform price in August was
$4 26 cwt, in September, 1955, it
was $4 15 cwt. *
The producer butterfat dif
ferential for the month was an
nounced at 5 6 cents for each
tenth of a pound of fat above or
below the 3 5 per cent standard

Judging Contests
Sixteen agricultural colleges
and universities from, 15 states
have entered teams in the inter
collegiate meat judging contest
which will be held in Kansas
City on Tuesday, Oct 23, in con
nection with the American Royal
Live Stock Show
The following schools will send
a total of 48 contestants into
competition - Ohio State Univer
sity, University ot Nebraska,
Kansas State College, University
of Wisconsin, North Dakota Agri
cultural College, University of
Minnesota, University of Illinois,
Texas A & M. College, South
Dakota State College, Oklahoma

Technological College.
The winning team in Kansas
City will take home the National
Live Stock and Meat Board’s
coveted challenge trophy, which
must be won three time's for
permanent possession. In the
contest, which is sponsored by
the Meat Board, the students will
be required to judge nine classes
of beef, lamb and pork whole
sale cuts and carcasses, as well
as grading 20 beef carcasses and
10 lamb carcasses The judging
teams are made up of three men
from each school.
