West Lampeter Livestock Show for 1956 Especially Heavy in Entries By LF Staff Reporter Another community fair in 1956 Lancaster County history is complete, with tha Friday night sale of 29 FFA club swine in auction at the West Lampeter Community Fair. Prices ranged from $22 50 tflf $l7 cwt, with the top going to Donald Welk, R 1 Strasburg, on four fattening pigs that brought him a total of $186.65. Purchaser was Kunzler & Co., Lancaster packing firm, who raised the $l7 70 winning bid made 'earlier by Sam Edwards, Willow Street, to pay the young showman the premium. The reserve champion pen of four, weighing 755 lbs, sold to Ezra Martin, Lancaster, at $17.00 for Robert McCullough, R 1 Strasburg. J., by Ray Pickel, representing the association. Robert Welk, R 1 Strasburg, was named champion 4-H Club showman, and Paul Trimble, R 1 Quarryville, reserve. Elvm Shel ly.
