Li A 20 I ad A AD (i Iron Man Finale Kicks off Summer Movie ~~ Season Iron Man Expected to Start the Season with a BANG! PAUL ALBERCI Lion’s Eye Staff Writer, paa5102@pdu.edu Tappear that this may be Stark’s toughest opponent yet in the movies. This Mandarin charac- ter is based on one of the original comic’s most no- table villains and is considered to be Stark’s arch ri- - vals which would make sense why this appears to be Tony Stark’s toughest fight yet. It also appears that Tony's relationship with his assistant Pepper Potts (who is once again is being portrayed by Gwyneth Paltrow) escalates to the point where Stark claims he has to protect the one thing he can’t live with- out and immediately points at Ms. Potts and claims that she is that one thing. Stark’s best friend and Air force liaison “Rhody” (portrayed by Don Cheadle) will also be returning with his new upgraded ver- sion of the “War-Machine” armor from the second movie, only this time it will be in more patriotic armor with a red, white, and blue color scheme. These trailers were not sparing on the ac- tion. We see a scene where news helicopters drop open their doors and have multiple rocket pods as well as machine guns mounted on the side. They are shown destroying Stark’s cliff-side home, causing mass chaos on the inside with many of the different Iron Man suits being destroyed and all the people inside, including Stark and Potts flying around from the explosions. There is another intense scene where Air Force One is going down and many of the people on board are sucked out with Iron Man in hot pursuit after diving out of the falling plane. Lastly we see Stark and Rhody over what appears to be docks of some sort on a water source when Rhody tells Stark that calling in back-up: is Stark’s job. Suddenly out of the night sky, a fleet of various Iron Man suits fly in each varying from the suit next to it in size and details. At the sight of the suits, Stark merely replies “there’s my boys”. It is not made clear if these are actual people in these suits or if they are all drones of some sort. All that is known is that fans of the movies should expect to see more than one variation on the suit. With all this just revealed in the first two trailers, it’s obvi- ous why this is going to be the start of the summer movie season. The question is, will Stark’s extensive knowledge and the abilities of his suits that helped him throughout the other movies be enough to ‘stop his latest foe? Or, will the Mandarin succeed in whatever he is planning and eliminate Iron Man - once and for all? Well don’t ask me! Go out to the movies and see it for yourself! Iron man 3 will be in theaters everywhere starting May 3. Kutcher Raises Ratings on the - Revamped “Twoand A Half Men — Lion’s Eye Staff Writer mak5690@psu.edu Two years after Charlie Sheen left the critically acclaimed show Two and Half Men, the show seems to be to coming along strong. The new addition of Walden Schmidt portrayed by Ashton Kutcher gives the comedy a new dimension. Walden is a character that is a billionaire Internet entrepreneur who has recently been di- vorced and is looking for love. Although he does not have Charlie’s comedic wit or manly prowess, he brings in a wide variety of audi- ences to watch. He conveys a man lonely man lost in his money. With the immergence of Kutcher, Alan Harper played by Jon Cryer, is the true comedian and heart of the show. He portrays a middle aged divorced man who has a son. He is extremely awkward with women and looks to mooch off others in a loving way. Cryer is an extraordinary actor whose comedic timing liter- ally makes me laugh out loud even when watching the show by my- self. Without him, I do not believe the show would be as successful as it is today. Although I still watch the show, many of the Two and Half Men faithful miss Sheen’s easy going personality and lady’s man ways. They feel he gave the show an extra pizazz and a sense of ex- citement with his day-to-day habits. Even though many people have stopped watching the show ratings have gone up 13 percent since Sheen left the show. 1 believe with Kutcher’s Hollywood personality and Cryer’s comedic ways the show will continue to be on for many more years to come.
