Your Men’s Baseball team is off to another hot start this season, as they have rolled to a 7-3 record in their first 10 games and are showing no signs of letting up. Included in this recent streak are wins over Penn State Mont-Alto and Abington, as well as sets of double header victories over Penn State Fayette and Wilkes-Barre. The team has relied on strong offense to push them to this record, out- scoring their opponents 69-43 in that span. The recent key: to this success has been outfielder Bob Harper. Harper was recently Honorable Mention Player of the Week in the United States College Athletic Association. Over the week he provided seven hits, five RBI's, five runs, four stolen bases, and two bases on balls. Among other players driving the offense is Ted Seiler, who is batting .428 with 11 RBI’s, as well as Brad Holt, who is second on the team behind Siler with 10 RBIs. With 14 games left on the schedule, the team is ready for another strong finish to head into the postseason. The position players supply- ing the strong offense are ready to push the team to new heights in the postseason and the continued support of the Brandywine community is needed. It is hard to imagine Andy Reid letting go of his first pick of the 1999 draft but Easter Sunday proved otherwise. McNabb was traded to the division rival Washington Redskins for * the second round pick of this year’s draft and either a third or fourth round pick next year. Constantly saying McNabb was my guy, it did not make sense to bring him back after wiping out all of the veterans on the team. The only player of the 2004 Superbowl team that is left is place kicker David Akers. ; ~ It is mind boggling that one of the best quarterbacks in Eagles history had so much controversy. It all started on draft day when McNabb was booed by the fans because they wanted Ricky Williams. Andy Reid’s pick proved to be a wise one. The only thing that McNabb could not bring to the city of Philadelphia was a Superbowl cham- pionship which is all vn Philadelphia * fans wanted. Eleven seasons with one team is a long time. McNabb had many good years in the city but the Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb era couldn’t get the ring. Many. blame Andy Reid for not putting any talent around McNabb. McNabb had to do it himself for many seasons until Reid brought in T.O. and went to the Superbowl. Still McNabb was loved and respected in-Philadel- phia. But the bottom line is bringing home a championship which Mcnabb and Reid could not do. Now McNabb has a chance to do it with the division rival Washington Redskins. ~ McNabb will definitely hear the boos mixed in with the cheers when he returns to Philadelphia this season. Moving McNabb was vital to the team this year. With a number of holes on the team, Kevin Kolb will be stepping in as a starter. He is an accurate passer who can run the offense well. Some- thing fans got annoyed seeing McNabb throw at receivers’ feet all of these years. Now that McNabb is gone he is going to be remembered as not being able to get it done which is a shame for. one of the best quarterbacks in team history.
