Bage 13 Eye The Lion’ S Eye Ocotober 14, 2009 ame O nh "Entertainment Gruesome Zombie Comedy | A Zombieland Movie Review By Christopher Dilenno - Lion's Eye Entertainment Editor - cad5241@psu.edu Jesse Eisenberg. He is like Michael Cera - if Michael Cera were good, and he - has found his calling: kicking zombie ass. Zombieland, directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wer- nick, is the story of a young man who is trying desperately to survive the zombie apocalypse. Columbus (Eisenberg) is the name he gives us and it actually refers to his hometown. Columbus has made a list of rules that he abides by to help him exist in a world of the living dead. During his travels, Columbus meets a man that introduces himself as Tallahasee (Woody Harrelson), who reluctantly brings Columbus along with him. Columbus and Tallahasee find themselves in plenty of precarious positions and they usually escape with such immeasurable grace that one starts to wonder if this is really what would happen in a world full of zombies. (Then you should start to realize that zombies are not real, so subconscious of yours.) Along the way, they meet up with two girls who are introduced as Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin). The two groups become arch-rivals of sorts until they see they have something in - common: neither of them wants to be eaten by zombies. : Zombieland could be my favorite comedy of the year for a few reasons: Jesse Eisenberg is my favorite actor of my genera- tion, the movie itself does not contain any dull moments and the cameo near the middle of the movie is one of epic proportions. I have never been a big fan of Woody Harrelson, but this movie definitely got me on his side and even Emma Stone . (aka that other chick from SuperBad) actu- ally did a decent job of portraying herself as the sultry vixen. The zombies are gruesome and the laughs are many. Zombieland should be a destination for any of the readers of this article.
