Recently I had the misfortune of seeing Shutter, or as it should be called, The Ring of the Grudge 2: The Dark - Water of the Pulse. While I could review this film for you, it is easier just to say “DON’T SEE THIS. IT’S BAD” and instead complain about the mindlessness that is becoming American horror cinema. You see, for some reason, Ameri- can filmmakers have fallen into the frus- trating slump that should be considered a crime, i.e., taking Japanese horror films and adapting them for an American audi- ence. Now, while there are many reasons for why this slump needs to end, there are two main ones that stand out above the rest.
