November 15, 2002 Eve on Fntertainment The Lion’s Eye Page 7 Love at first sight, or just hasty hormones? Question: Do you believe in love at first sight? —Blinded by Love Doc Love: Love at first sight is, to some, being blinded by the light, like hold- ing with hopeful hands air so tight. Fools in love will agree that due only to fate and chance, two who have met were always meant to be. But like how a budding rose, in the hands of He that knows, can see that only through time will two become love requited as their relationship blossoms and grows. Mr. Hate: Love at first sight is haste at first taste (in my opinion) because you could be wearing the right perfume or . cologne or you did your hair in a certain style that caught that person's eye. Don't believe the hype when it comes to love, because just like a rose blooms and it looks beautiful, it has thorns that are over shad- owed by its precious petals and it eventu- ally dies and fades away like a flame in the wind. Question: I'm currently in a 1ong-dis- tance relationship. It's frustrating to see my girlfriend only once in awhile. Now she's becoming distant and monotone towards me on the phone. I'm really starting to get worried. What should I do? —Holding on to what's gone Doc Love: Hold strong. See her just one Movie Reviews By Shawn Pettit Assistant editor, STP143@psu.edu more time. Tell her how the stars shine bright around her eyes. How they whis- pered something nice, which almost made you cry: Home is where the heart is. Home is where you'll be. Home is where the heart is. Please don't you leave me. Home is where the heart is and there our hearts will forever be. Mr. Hate: Home is where the heart is... yeah right pal, home is where you'll be while your girlfriend is starting to move on with her life. Personally buddy, I hope you realize that relationships require enough energy and time anyway so why are you trying to do this long distance. Yeah, yeah, yeah so you love her; love ain't gonna pay for the phone bills or her and you becom- ing more distant. You need to break it off because when you try to control things that are beyond your power, you become unhappy and right now you're not happy. Question: My boyfriend is such a bum! He rarely takes me out anywhere and whenever we do go out to eat (usually McKee Dee s), he always somehow "for- gets" to bring his wallet. —Bummed out of love Doc Love: Listen little flower, some- times they say that love is its own reward. Those whose reward is alone achieved does not Now Playing: Punch Drunk Love Imagine your life is a hum-drum existence. or Kove (Gerry ungan) My. Hate ( Shawn Manderson) think of the relationship they are in. Love allows one to shine bright, but with two, love darkens one if the other does not love the same. Simply, re-ignite or ignite a spark of romance between you two. If it's worth it, then work it. Mr. Hate: This is exactly the reason why we have 'gold diggers' because its girls like this who are tired of dating guys like that. The cycle never ends. Question: My long-time girlfriend recently told me that she kissed a guy at a party. She said it was completely acciden- On video: Monsters, Inc. ; Picture this: you're eight years old and your mommy and daddy just gave you a kiss good night. As you start to fall asleep, you hear a strange sound coming from your closet. Then you see a scary looking monster with five eyes and claws and a tal and it will never happen again. Can I trust her? —Indirectly Kissed another guys lips Doc Love: Sometimes a rip can turn into a tear. Needle and thread can mend the hole but, like a scar, the sewing is still there. Take her hand, gently in yours, showing how strong you feel about her but also allowing how strong the pain she caused you. Forgive, but never forget. Remorse she may show, but only in time will you know the true meaning in her soul. Mr. Hate: Look at things for what they are worth; if it were you who kissed a girl she would be pissed and you would never hear the end of it- right? I think all guys can agree with me on this one. There are two kind of women in this world, those that are good to you, and those that are - good for you. Maybe you should see if your girlfriend is good to you or for you because there is a finite difference between the two. Plus you have to realize if your talking about trusting her then think about this; when determining a persons worth you should think if they are a liability, or a reliability.
