Although, thanks to El Nino, the weather hasn’t been too bad for this part of the country, many of you are already looking forward to summer, when the temperature is in the 90’s and a trip to the beach is a must. Well, maybe you don’t have to wait until May to enjoy the surf and sand and above-freezing temperatures of summer. March is just around the corner and with it brings the one thing college students look forward to more than life itself: Spring Break. And what better place is there to spend a March afternoon than in Florida? “Yeah, but how am I going to get there?” you ask. Well, if you haven't already seen the signs posted all around campus, the SGA is offering a Spring break package to Panama Beach, Florida. The price for the trip is $159 for eight days and seven nights for hotel accommodation. For transportation, which means a motorcoach, the price is an extra $100. The trip also offers you discounts that are not available to anyone else, a schedule of pool deck parties throughout the week, and much more. If you don’t have the money now, that’s not too big of a problem. You don’t need to pay the full price up front, but a $50 deposit is due February 13, so you'd better act soon. The full payment is due February 23. For more information, or if you have any questions about the trip, contact SGA Secretary JoAnne Johnson in the SGA office, by phone at 892- 1240, or e-mail her at jmj161. If you still need another reason for going to Florida you probably need some mental help, but Jake Austin, 7th semester history major and Panama City veteran, summed it up for everyone: “It's the best week you'll never remember!” Nadine Strossen to Speak for Women’s History Month president of the American Civil - By Aaron Mixson March is Women’s History Month. Well, the SGA’s own version of the dating game “Singled Out” probably won't help you out, but it’s sure to be entertaining. This event will be held on Friday, February 13, before Valentine's Day, during common hour, in the Lion's Den. It’s being organized by the SGA, particularly Vice President Maria Ianarelli and Secretary JoAnne Johnson. You can sign up for their version of the popular MTV game show in the Lion’s Den, today and tomorrow, February 10 and 11. As many as interested may sign up; around fifty guys and girls are expected. The more, the merrier. Two guys and two girls will do the “choosing” from the list of who signed up. It’s unknown who will be the Delco counterparts of Carmen Electra and Chris Hardwick. “It’s a great way to meet single people on the Delco campus - especially near Valentine’s Day,” say Maria and JoAnne. The SGA will send the winners to a night at the movies, on them. So, if you're worried that you can’t find a Valentine, or a date to the February 13 Service Corps dance, don’t miss out! (L. to r.)
