Following in the tradition of Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Be A Video Producer By Liz Russo The objective of the Media Project is to “have fun while you learn.” Being part of the Media Project is a remarkable experience for communications majors who are serious about film-making. It's an excellent opportunity to write, ‘direct, and to create films. It also teaches students how to use the audio/video equipment, for which the staff and student trainers provide special assistance. The latest project the group is working on is a video for Barrier Awareness, a non profit organization which aims to educate the public about the needs and rights of the handicapped. The film's goal is to make the public aware of the challenges faced by handicapped people everyday. Examples include handicapped parking, ramps, and entrances which are useless due to improper design. On a much lighter note, the Media Project is making a film on student life (or lack of). This parody is done in good taste and will involve faculty, students, and clubs. Thus, the Media Project members are creating exciting films now and ‘will plan to do so in the future. Anyone majoring in Communications and interested in video production should join ASAP. The Media Project officers are: President: David Rhoades Vice President: Al Rickson Secretary: Pauline Batter. Robert DeNiro, portraying the character of Max Cady, gives a stellar performance. It has Oscar written all over it. Nick Nolte and Jessica Lang also give incredible performances, but are overshadowed by DeNiro’s intensity. Newcomer, Juliette Lewis, who play the role of the defense attorney’s daughter, makes an incredible first performance. A violent and stylish movie, with unexpected religious overtones, Cape Fear is another great film from one of America’s best directors. ***** Student Activities: By James Doolittle The Student Activities Committee of Penn State Delco has a slate of activities planned for the upcoming spring semester of 1992. Take Your Dearest Friend To Lunch at Lima Pizza Dianna, Tammy, and Anna are regulars at the new and improved Lima Pizza, located at 1165-A West Baltimore Pike (south of Granite Run Mall). The restaurant, which has been open for approximately 5 years, has just expanded itself to a dine-in restaurant, that serves far more than pizza. According to Cheryl Palmer (friendliest waitress around!), the pizzeria restaurant makes homemade pizza dough daily. Their menu ranges from pizza, pasta, and hoagies, to burgers, dinner platters, and sandwiches. And, for those light eaters, they have pita bread specials AND a garden fresh salad bar that is absolutely killer! Although lunch time is the earliest that we visit, there is a breakfast menu which starts at 6 am weekdays and 7 am weekends. Come one! Come all! The friendly, : social atmosphere caters to everyone from executive professionals to (poor-pennyless) college students. The sounds of soft rock music in the background adds to the already pleasant surroundings. Speaking of poor-pennyless college students, the lunch time specials here are quite affordable. For example, on Friday, a mini-pizza, your choice of soup, French fries or salad, and a medium drink, will run you only $4.50. And let us tell you, they are chowness! So, for a good meal, friendly and quick service, and affordable prices, bring your friends, family, and colleagues to Lima Pizza. Manny and Cheryl are waiting for you!
