Photo by: DIANA MICERI ROTC Rangers Rough It By Peggie Cahall On the weekend of September 20- 21 the ROTC Rangers participated in the Annual Ranger Survival FTX. Over the weekend the cadets built their own hooches (shelters), while the Rangers learned how to build fires and survive on limited food supply. Su Among the many skills taught on this weekend, the survival techniques consisted of emergency communication skills, ravine and river crossing techniques, and in addition, the Rangers learned how to maneuver from one point to another during hours of limited visibility; utilizing their eyes and Lenzick compass only. : The Delco Ranger Club flew up to Shunk, Pa. in Army Helicopters, that landed here at Delco. Recipients are expected to share their talents and expertise with others throughout the University system by participating in workshops and symposia, giving lectures or presentations on teaching techniques for new faculty, by taking part in discussions or seminars with students in the University Scholars Program, or teaching honors courses. Pre-screening of nominees will be done by each college and approved by the dean. Final selection, however, will be made by a University committee made up of three alumni, three faculty, three students, and one administrative representative appointed by the President of the University.
