They are Men’s Soccer, Men's Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Coed Golf, and Coed Tennis. Delco teams compete with Penn State Commonwealth Cam- puses as well as area schools, including Delaware County Com- munity College, Cheyney State College, and Brandywine Junior . College. In addition, each team is eligible for league playoffs and the Commonwealth Campuses Tournament at the end of the season. The Athletic Department also sponsors intramural Sports pro- grams during the Fall and Spring Terms. If you are interested in joining a team, watch for announcements concerning try-out dates. The Nittany Lions will take on Colgate in Beaver Stadium at University Park. Game time is 1:30 p.m. Colgate is one of two teams added to “NFL Picks PSU Seniors | Five Penn State seniors were among the first 69 players chosen at the annual National Football League draft in New York last Spr- ing. A sixth was chosen before the close of the first day of the draft April 29. A ~ seventh was drafted the next day. Defensive tackle Bruce Clark went to the Green Bay Packers in the first round. The 1978 Lombardi Trophy winner was the fourth player selected overall. In the se- cond round, defensive tackle Matt Millen went to the Oakland Raiders (43rd overall), fullback Matt Suhey went to the Chicago Bears (45th overall), and of- fensive tackle Irv Pankey was chosen by the Los Angeles Rams (50th overall). ‘In the third round, linebacker Lance Mehl went to the New York Jets (69th). Running back Mike ‘Guman was also taken by the Los Angeles Rams in the sixth round. Wide receiver . Tom Donovan, the seventh- leading psss receiver in Penn State History, was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the ninth round the next day. Donovan was the ninth player selected in that round and the 230th player overall. the Penn State schedule this year. The Lions will play for the first time at Missouri on October 4. Notre Dame, Boston College, SMU, and Alabama are included in the 1981 schedule. Penn State and Colgate agreed to play the season opener one week earlier than .originally scheduled. “The earlier opening date will avoid any possible con- flict with on-campus dor- mitory space during pre- season football practices,” said head football coach and athletic director Joe Pater- no. In the season’s second game, the Lions face Texas A&M away Saturday, September 20. Last year’s contest ended in a 27-14. Penn State loss. The game will be broadcast by the ESPN Cable-TV sports net- work. The total capacity of the stadium now exceeds 83,000 making it the seventh-largest in the country. Students will be. allocated an additional 1,000 seats in the south end zone. Some 20,900 seats are reserved for students. ~ For the first time since 1972, students will receive a single wallet-size pass when purchasing season tickets, instead of a separate ticket for each game. Last year, season tickets cost $24 for seven games, a savings of $4. Public season tickets cost $66, an increase of $1 per game from last year. In- dividual game tickets cost $12, up from $10 last season. Single game and date tickets for students went on sale September 2. Last fall, Penn State averaged 77,414 fans for seven home games, the fourth-highest attendance average in college football.
