Page 4 CONSTRUCTION STARTED ON LIBRARY LEARNING CENTER Have you ever tried to study in our library? If the lack of space doesn't aggravate you, the noise might. Last month a project was started which will eliminate this problem. A new library building is now under construction and will be completed in an estimated two years, The Pennsylvania State Department of General Services has let the building contract to J. W. Hughes & Co. Inc., and will control the contract until construction is completed. Upon com- pletion, the building will be presented by GSA to the University. The new library learning center will be located behind the apple orchards about 700 feet from the main buildings. An access road will branch off from the tennis courts area, and a small parking lot will be constructed at the rear of the building. A multi-storied struc- ture, the new library will be air con- titioned and serviced by an elevator. The building will house audio-visual and other learning center facilities in addition to classrooms, seminar rooms, faculty offices, and typing rooms for use by students.
