VoL. X, No. 1 PENN STATE UNIVERSITY, DELAWARE COUNTY CAMPUS August 29, 1978 STUDENT GOVERNMENT HAS NEW PRESIDENT Dean Ashenfelter has become president of the Undergraduate Student Association (USA) upon the resignation of Dale Cor- son. In the elections held last spring Corson was elected president and Ashen- felter, vice-president. According to the USA constitution the vice-president assumes the office of president when a vacancy occurs. Corson's resignation is a result of his family's moving and his subsequent transfer from the University. The office of vice-president was filled through presidential appointment, by Betsy Raymond who had been elected secretary in the spring. Ms. Raymond has since resigned stating that personal responsibilities would not allow her time to act effectively as veep. The office of treasurer is held by Steve LeNeve. At the present time Ashenfelter and LeNeve are the only re- maining members of the four person ex- ecutive board. An announcement will be forthcoming concerning the filling of the offices of vice-president and sec- retary. UNIVERSITY CONSIDERS LEASING LIMA SCHOOL Penn State University has shown some interest in acquiring the Lima School, located at the intersection of routes 352 and 452, on a short term two year lease. The school, which is owned by the Rose Tree Media School District, was closed recently because of a lack of enrollment and is now vacant. The Lima School, if leased, will pro- vide additional office and classroom space for the Delaware County Campus. There is a small gymnasium which is not of regulation size, but can serve as an indoor basketball court during the fall and winter months. If a decision is made to lease the building the relocation of offices will begin in the spring of 1979. A final decision will be made following a visit to the building by University officials from the central campus.
