Page 4 - October, 1976 LION’S EYE Former Pattee Librarian Joins Delco Staff By: Maria McKelvey There is a new face on campus and faculty and students alike will become more acquainted with her as the weeks pass by. She moved here from University Park where, for five years, she held the position of Reference Librarian of the Undergraduate Library at Pattee, When asked what she hopes to accom. plish at this campus Ms. Whildin answered without hesitation that she would like to -improve the all-around library service, She added further that she would like to “develop the library’s role in the in-_ structional processes, teaching students how to take advantage of the materials here and at University Park and to teach" students how to see what is available.” We Regret The Necessity Of Cutting Some Articles. However, Penn State’s defense kept the Lions in the game. As the game continued, both teams were on the warpath, Brandywine’s charge with only minutes left in the first half, was too much for the Lions. Penn State’s Coach, Captain Behncke gave his team a few pointers at halftime, ¢¢SCORE fellas! We have the talent to win, so let’s get our act together,” As the second half began, traces of the first half could be seen. Fast play, brutal checking, and strong defense, Penn State’s barricade was then broken once more as Brandywine scored. Penn State’s goalie, Dave Fitzgerald played a brilliant game, He was shell- shocked by the end of the game, chalking up 23 saves. Another Lion, Mike Howa- chyn faired quite well making 7 of Penn State’s 11 shots on goal, at his forward position, Captain Behncke has a confident out- look for the remainder of the season. He said his players have the talent and ability, and that they are really together. As a final comment, Id like to say I was puzzled by the Penn State turnout, This was a home game and there were no more than 30 people in attendance. We’ve got to come out and support our team if we expect them to gather some wins, The schedule of games is posted in the Ph, Ed. Building, Come see our soccer team soar to victory!
