The Bursar informs me that one of the $3.00 charges was in error and that you will receive a refund of $44.00 on your general deposit. All students in chemistry laboratory courses at our Common- wealth Campuses are charged $3.00 per term by way of a charge against the general deposit, Our procedures call for the student to ‘be notified of the charge by his instructor in each such class, H for - ‘some reason you were not notified, we are sorry, but our policies do not permit refund of the charges, I am sorry that you have found it necessary to withdraw from the University. - Sincerely yours, Steve A, Garban, Contoller c.c, Mr, Robert A, Patterson Mr, George L, Lane Mr, Robert G, Quinn * w * * It seems to this reporter that not only is the question being begged, but once again quite true to Penn State form, the students at the Commonwealth Campuses are being singled out unjustly and with no remorse of conscience by the usurpers who are in “charge’’ of Penn State University to bear the Weigh of maintaining the Main ‘Campus (2). In response, this reporter sent a reply to R. A, Patterson denouncing Garban’s letter: Enclosed was the $44.00 check -- ripped in half -- and a demand for a full refund. : Anyone else who feels wrongly relieved of some “greenbiicks write to Patterson also demanding your money back, Or, if you will, contact the editor of this paper or send me a note -- and maybe a group letter (not a petition, yet) can be sent, Maybe further publicity will encourage still others to speak out against this unwrit- ten, unofficial policy of appropriating people’s money from them illegally, This type of action by the Penn State officials is faintly reminis- cent, to this reporter, of the actions perpetrated by Great Britain aginst those rebellious colonists who founded this ‘land of the tree,” “some 200 years ago. Let us also take measures to insure that we, too, are not ‘‘taxed’’ unjustly. Address any correspondence with your feelings and/or ideas concerning this matter to ‘‘Morals,’”” and drop them off at the USA office with the note “ATTENTION: THE LION’S EYE?’ (USA office is located in the Student Affairs modular, office A), This reporter awaits further developments and inquiries, Tea HUSTLE ON DOWN I wish you the very best in your academic career, 1038 ABOUT ARMY ROTC SEELILELILLLIS ELISE IIEE IEEE ELE IS LILLIE ILLIA LILES Ski Trip To Quebec The Undergraduate Student Association (USA) is planning a ski trip to Quebec City in Canada for the waek of December 26th - he cost is $159 for 4 persons per room and $189 for 2 per room occupancy.
