RILEY AND DURBACK
SPARK LOCALS TO
THIRD STRAIGHT WIN
Paced by Johnny Riley and A 1 Dur
back who tallied 37 points between
them, HUC defeated a classy Buck
nell Jr. College quintet, 53-48, to
hang up their third consecutive win
of the season against no losses.
Although HUC trailed at the end
of the first quarter, 17-15, scintillat
ing shots by Riley, Hazleton’s “dead
eye,” put the locals in front as the
half ended, 28-23. The third period
saw beautiful shots by Riley for the
homesters and by Swartwood, Pino
la, and Black of the visitors. Third
stanza wound up with Bucknell trail
ing, 47-35. Although outscoring the
HUC, 13 to 6 in the last canto, the
charges of Coach Rudman came out
on the long end of the score to win,
53-48.
Standouts, defensively, were Rior
dan, Williams and Apichella for the
HUC, and Zukowski and Pinola for
the upper-enders.

HUC ON DISPLAY
Setting a precedent for local mer
chants, Fellin’s Jewelry Store has
taken the initiative in advertising the
Hazleton Undergraduate Center,
subtly reminding the people of the
Hazleton region that there is more
involved in higher learning than the
mere drudgery of studying. Using
HUC’S Annual Christmas Semi- For
mal as a lead, Miss Celeste Fellin has
fixed a display in the store window.
To her belongs the entire credit for
the idea and the display. Celeste has
shown an absorbing interest in HUC,
which we hope is contagious. We
wish to thank Mr. Fellin, the owner,
whose generous cooperation has made
the display materialize. The display
has been shown during the past week
in the main window. Miss Fellin will
continue these displays in the future.

It was one of those boisterous
mornings that our librarian, Miss

After much placating, she finally had

Suddenly, someone (?) in the music
