ar s by Tony Guzzardo Sports Editor The old saying goes, ’’You can’t teach an old dog new tricks." Veil, tell that to George Foreman. At age 41 the guy is making his comeback. All the critics who doubted Foreman are eating their words as he continues to knock out his opponents. □K OK, so the wins weren’t against top rank boxers, but they were YOUNGER then him, and they didn’t punch like they had quick sand in their jock straps. I respect Foreman for his comeback, but I think he’s been hit in the head to many times if he’s thinking of taking on Mike Tyson. Take a little too much Geritol George? Even if he does win more bouts, he’d still have to fight the top contender Evander Holyfield. I don't think Foreman has any chance of survival. I think le should give up before he lands in a sothole and flattens lis tire. Ya know, the one around his waist. PENN STATE Playoff Bound ? It’s been four years since the Penn State Hazleton basketball program has been to post season play. This season, Dr. Tom Caccese’s rambunctious squad may very well enter the playoff picture. Though the Lions are 5-2 in the C.C.A.C. and are still in second place things are looking up as the Lions get ready for the showdown between themselves and number one Berks campus for a first place tie in the conference. A lot also depends on what our Lions do against Mont Alto campus this weekend. In order for the showdown with Berks they must beat Mont Alto. One of the reasons for the extreme success of the basketball team is the bench. Depth is so abundant that as many as eight of the players can start for the Lions at any given time. The playoffs are coming fast and our Nittany Lions have a good shot at seeing their name on the seeding chart at the end of the season. I seen a good turn out of fan support at the games and with the Berks game coming up the Lions will need your support even more. Why not have one more thing to celebrate on a game and root your team on. One more thing, make some NOISE at the games! Let the other team know that coming to Hazleton to try to beat our Lions is a big mistake.
