Alumni Homecoming Day Coach Paterno Is Coming To Dinner at Highacres Reservations are pouring in for the banquet which will be served at 730 p.m. in the physical education complex following a reception at 6:30 p.m. for Paterno and his entourage. The coach will address the throng that evening after the feast. The banquet will be catered by Hotel Magee of Bloomsburg and will feature the "Bounteous Buffet" made famous at the "Groaning Board" in the hotel's Publick House dining room. Delicacies to be included are fried shrimp, shrimp and crab salad, medium rare roast of beef, old-fashioned baked ham, sweet and sour meatballs, baked chicken with mushrooms, and a wide selection of culinary creations built around hot and cold vegetables and fruits. Desserts will include German choco late cake, pecan tarts, creme caramel, fresh fruit bowls, chocolate roll cakes, cherry cobblers, and a commemorative 50th anniversary cake. The cost of a ticket is $25 and includes the social hour, dinner and program. Any profit from tickets will be donated to the Hazleton Campus. In honor of Paterno, the Penn State Club will make a donation to his favorite project, the University's Renaissance Fund. Tickets are strictly on a first-come first served basis and persons who purchase tickets will be assigned to tables in the order purchased. The Golden Anniversary year will reach its climax on Saturday, May 4 with a gala alumni homecoming, featuring dinner with Penn State's veteran head football coach, Joe Paterno. Plans.are in the capable hands of the local Penn State Club with club prexy, Anthony N. Cusatis, and club secretary, Jean Scheers, chairing the affair. It's already obvious that it will be the largest, most elaborate such celebration ever to be held on the Hazleton Campus.
