Page Twelve - Righacree Collegian, December 8, 1974 CHORUS CAPERS The Hazleton Campus Chorus, under the direction of His. Jumps ter made its first appearance November 3rd at University Park. The umbers vent down Saturday and enjoyed All-II Day, then on Sunday song "Every Time I Feel the Spirit" at the Chapel Service. The Altoona Campus was there also and performed "Beautiful Saviour", The two choruses then joined the Chapel Choir to sing "The Old-Hundredth Psalm". The second appearance made was on Monday, November 11. The chorus travelled to Wilkes-Barre to get two songs taped for Chan* nal 16. - They will be shown some time on Christmas Day. So watch your local listings for the right time. The Joypipers t a group of fe male singers from Chorus, are busi ly preparing for an appearande dur ing the Chrtstmas Concert. They will perfoimo-Wthe Lookout House on December 7 . Tentative plans axe being lade for a possible trip to Disney World. The Chorus would ierfora there, but would also get a Chance to see all the fa mous sights. This world need a combined effort of every Member to raise money. The biggest event before the Christmas break will be the Christmas Concert. The members are busily practicing a variety of songs to make this concert enjoyable to everyone. The main piece of the Show will be the "African Mass." It will be held on Deceaber 14 in 0-1 at eight o'clock. Admission is free. TRIAL BY JURY Tryouts for the spring production of Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta "Trial By Jury" will„be held Decem ber 16, 17, and 18. "Trial By Jury" is a one-act comic operetta, which means that it contains no spoken dialogue. Students need not be a member of the chorus to try out for the operetta. There are three major roles'in the show. The male lead is Edwin, the Defendant, a tenor-Baritone, who is a lady's man, Casanova, Don Juan type. The female lead is Angelina, the Bride. She wants to get married, and will stop at nothing to get her wish. She is a soprano. The judge, a Bass, is egotistical, an older man who has an eye for "charming damsels." There are also parts for Laywers, Baritones, who are typical at torneys. There is also an Usher, who is a Bassi, a jury consisting of 12 men, and 8 Bridesmaids. A Chorus made up of Bridesmaids and jurors will also be on stage. Requirements for the =Jo* roles include an abil ity to sing and to express the emotions and moods of the characters through singing and acting.
