Spring intercollegiate soccer has been dominated by good scoring on the part of the Highacres dynamos who cur rently possess a 2-win to 1- loss record. In the battle against Capital Campus, Hazle ton slipped to defeat 3-2. Mr. Ron Biggers and Ken Heydt scored the two goals. In the Schuylkill game, Highacres booters eased to a 2-0 vic tory, with Hugo Correa chalk ing up both goals. Bill Schaf fer recorded the shut-out as goalie. In the big Wilkes-Bar re contest, Tim Weller smacked in 4 goals, followed by Correa! with 2, and Dennis Catino and Bill Finerfrock with 1 apiece, Goalies Finerfrock and Ken Wong recorded the shut-out. In the opening game against the Scranton Campus, the individual scores,were as follows: Ron Makuta, Carl Ma kuta, and Chris Krajnik 81 apiece; Tom Chirico and Mike Laukashunas 83 each; Gene. Babon with a total of 89. The Highacres team smashe Schuylkill 15 to 3 in its sec ond game of the season. The third game, played at the Sug arloaf home course against Wilkes-Barre, resulted in an 11i to 6i Hazleton match-point victory. PIN DROPPERS by Tom -England and Bill Michael During the inactivity trend that seems to be an inherent 'condition of winter term at Highacres, Sharon Slingerland and a group of other students organized and participated in the intramural bowling program. Mr. Biggers acted as advisor. In competition, the Beavers emerged victorious for the sec ond half of the season. They bowled over the Unknowns in the semifinals and became champs by defeating the Second Floor rollers in the finals. Each Beaver will receive a PSU tank ardpand a plaque bearing the team name will be placed in ,the library. Team members are: Todd Croft, Tom England, Dave Lynch, Joe Nittl, and Dan O'Neil.
