Features Puka
Bill Puka, talented song writer
and musician, is going places in
the music world. But before he
does, Puka will appear before
Behrend audienceson May 13 at 9
to 11 p.m. and May 14 and 15 from
10 to 1 P.M. in the RUB dining

Puka’s musical career began
recently when he recorded his
own songs on a Columbia record
entitled Bill Puka. His works
show jazz influences musically
and heavy Southern influences
lyrically. They describe feeling
and emotions which all of us have
had, but which very few of us
could say out loud. - Puka
describes his own work as bor
dering on ‘ ‘earthy! ”
Before Columbia happened to
him, Puka earned several
degrees at Hofstia, Rutgers, and
Brown Universities. He was
awarded a teaching fellowship at
Harvard, where he instructed
philosophy while continuing his
own studies in philosophy and
psychotherapy. He is presently
finishing his thesis paper for
graduate school and plans to
continue teaching.
Puka began writing songs to
accompany his own puppet show
at Brown through which he
supported himself at grad school.
Gradually his songs became
more personal expressions of his
own emotional experiences. Puka
plans to follow up his first cut

Summer Jobs
Remain
Are you a graduate having
trouble finding a new job? If so,
you should see the Pennsylvania
Bureau of Employment Security.
It is designed to assist new
graduates in cracking the “job
barrier” by providing pertinent
occupational information.
In an annual guide prepared by
the Bureau, the outlook for job
seekers is considered bleak in
stead of black. Erie now has
106,100 people at work with 6,100
idle; a year ago this data was
108,200 and 4,000. The growth in
the work force is now outpacing
job expansion.
On the other hand, there are
two points that bear stressing.
One, Erie’s diversified industrial
structure gives this area a
distinct economic advantage
since it is less affected by broad
swings in the business cycle.
Festival
Announced
The Joint Residence Council of
Behrend Campus is sponsoring a
Spring Arts Festival which will
take place on Memorial weekend,
May 28,29 and 30. Included in the
Arts Festival will be a clothesline
art exhibit, rock concert, a band
and choral concert, refreshment
stands and other events.

sex IS YOUR BUSINESS
birth control OURS
We believe your private life should be your own. And when it
comes to buying contraceptives, the hassle in a crowded drug
store isn’t exactly private. So we’ve made it possible for you to
get nonprescription contraceptives through the mail.
We specialize in men's contraceptives and we offer two of the most
exciting ones available anywhere—Fetherlite and NuForm condoms.
They're better than anything you can get in a drugstore. Imported
from Britain, they're lighter, thinner, more exciting to use; and
precision manufacturing and testing techniques make them as re
liable as any condom anywhere. Made by LRI, world's largest manu
facturer of men’s contraceptives. Fetherlite (the best) and NuForm
not only conform to exacting USFDA specifications, but are made
to British Government Standard 3704 as well. We think vou'lJ like
them.
Our illustrated brochure tells you all about Fetherlite and
NuForm. And about seven other American brands which we have
carefully- selected from the more than one hundred kinds available
today. And we explain the differences.
We also have nonprescription foam for women and a wide
variety of books and pamphlets on birth control, sex. pooulation.
and ecology.
Want more information? It's free. Just send us your name and
address. Better still, for one dollar we'll send you all the informa
tion plus two Fetherlite samples and one NuForm. For four dollars
you'll get the brochure plus three each of five different condom
brands (including both Imports). All correspondence and merchan
dise is shipped in a plain cover to protect your privacy, and we
guarantee your money back 11 you're not satisfied with our products

Two, attribution —retirements,

continually create openings.
As always, the girl or young
man who presorts a background
of training, experience, or a good
academic record will be the
preferred applicant. However,
with competition -so keen this
year, graduates cannot afford to
be choosy.
The professional staff at the
Pa. Bureau of Employment
Security can assist a graduate in
formulating his vocational plans
and sharpening jobhunting
techniques. It is important to
identify and evaluate capabilities
at the outset. BES test facilities
(aptitude and proficiency);
counseling services; and in
terviewing tips can be most
valuable.
If further information is
required, it is possible to contact
the Bureau at the Human
Resources Development Office,
