Summer Jobs Remain Are you a graduate having trouble finding a new job? If so, you should see the Pennsylvania Bureau of Employment Security. It is designed to assist new graduates in cracking the “job barrier” by providing pertinent occupational information. In an annual guide prepared by the Bureau, the outlook for job seekers is considered bleak in stead of black. Erie now has 106,100 people at work with 6,100 idle; a year ago this data was 108,200 and 4,000. The growth in the work force is now outpacing job expansion. On the other hand, there are two points that bear stressing. One, Erie’s diversified industrial structure gives this area a distinct economic advantage since it is less affected by broad swings in the business cycle. Festival Announced The Joint Residence Council of Behrend Campus is sponsoring a Spring Arts Festival which will take place on Memorial weekend, May 28,29 and 30. Included in the Arts Festival will be a clothesline art exhibit, rock concert, a band and choral concert, refreshment stands and other events. Dyane Soifer and Debby Mc- Call, co-chairmen of the com mittee, urge anyone with ideas or who would like to help, to contact them at either 899-1191 or 899- 1175.
