Psg• Fent. Behrend Diamondmen Down Two More The Behrend baseball squad added two more victories to their slate, last Saturday, by downing New Kensington, 1-0 and 2-1, at New Kensington. The team now stands 4-0. Bob Lockner turned in another fine game for the Cubs, pitching seven scoreless innings on three hits and four strikeouts in the first game. The game was sty mied at 0-0 until the top of the seventh when Behrend's Bob Johnson level-off with a double. Bob was followed by Rick Wel don who doubled to left, but Johnson was cut-down at the plate. Then with two out Wasson signaled sharply to left to drive in Weldon with the winning run. In the second game Bob John- Behrend Athletes Place 2nd Twice Behrend's swimmers and volley bailers both grabbed second place finishes in the Commonwealth Campus Tourney held at Univer sity Park last Saturday. The swimmers totaled 48 pts. to finish second behind Ogontz at 67 pts., and ahead of Dußois at 28 pts. The volleyball men took sec ond place to finish behind cham pion New Kensington and ahead of third place Beaver. The teams record was 6-4 overall losing only to New Kensington. The first match with St. Mark's Seminary was called off when St. Mark's failed to field a team. The number one position is held by Max Fleischhauer, 2nd is Kerry Lamson, 3rd—Dan Parath; 4th-Dan 4Schrecongast, sth Roger Sager, and 6th—Ed Seiler. In doubles competition it was Fleischauer and Lamson, Parath and Sager, and Schreconhast and Seiler. The Cubs defeated Beaver 7-2, for their first win of the season and their eleventh consecutive victory. Fleischauer made it ten wins in a row by beating Novack 9-7, 9-7. In other .singles it was Lamson defeating Stewart 6-4, 6-3 and Seiler over Malakovich 3-6, 6-1, 6-1. In doubles it was Fleischauer and Lamson over Novack and Kircher 7-5, 6-1 and Schreicon gast and Seiler defeating Sham bert and Barkovich 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
