Page Six Coach Stoner's Bailers Knock In 26, Take Pair The baseball team started off the season last Sunday by winning a doubleheader at McKeesport in Pittsburgh. Coach Stoner's crew hit the ball very well in the first game with 18 hits to McKeesport's 6 outpointing them 18-4. Bob Lackner was the whining pitcher. He pitched 5 scoreless in nings and had 6 strikeouts. Lack ner, Bob Johnson, and Tom Al brecht each had 3 hits. Lackner also had 3 RBl's. , Behrend Batt,r Pos. The nine-man squad consists of Ron Kwasneski, Roy Pagliari, Gary Paulhaber, Tom Mason, Jim Co drea, Gary Braun, Andy Magyar, Greg Levinsky, Gary Chupka. The only returning player is Greg Le vinsky. Coaching the team this year are. Marty Malkin assisted by Ro bert Monahan. The schedule for the season is: Tuesday, April 21, Cuyahoga Metropolitan Campus—Away 1:00 p. m. Friday. Tuesday, April 28, Allegheny Racketeers Our brand new tennis courts will be broken in tomorrow morn ing at 10:00 a. m., when Coach Herb Lauffer and his netters will challenge St. Marks Seminary. Last year Behrend played St. Marks twice beating them by scores of 6-1 and 9-0 both home and away. The number (1) and (2) posi tions will be filled by Max Flei schouer and Kerry Lamson. Max is the only returning letterman from last year's undefeated team. He played 6th man last year and was undefeated in singles. In fact, he had not lost a set last year. In the second game Johnson struck out 14 McKeesport batters to win the game 8-4. Johnson also hit the only home run for either team in the sth inning. Doug Zim merman had a good game also. He was 2 for 4 with 2 RBl's. Both pitchers went the whole game in beautiful 75 degree wea ther. The next game will be to morrow in a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. at New Kensington. In their place there are a number of matric cards. Students who have in their possession spo r t s equipment which they have been holding for weeks should help out the others by returning this equipment as soon as they are finished with it. After all, this equipment belongs to every Behrend student and one does not' have the right to deny the others the use of this gear by holding on to it even when they are through with it.
