Sports 8.0 . CUBS OPEN HOME SEASON The Beheend soccer Cubs open a four game home stand this Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. against the Dubois Campus of Penn State, with eight returning Sophomores (six of them are lettermen) and a good number of promising Freshmen. The Cubs have high hopes of starting a winning season with a victory over Dubois. Last year Behrend and Dubois played two games. Both ended up with identical 2-2 ties. The Cubs, how ever, are confident that this season will "he different add that they will be victorious. Coach Onorato strongly suggested that every student attend the game and support their team. Dubois soccer team "Since Behrend is also a Penn State Campus, we always enjoy playing there, and are looking forward to a good game:" This comment was made by Coach Doyle of the Dubois team in a recent interview to the Nittany Cub as he discussed Tuesday's game. This is only the second year that Dubois has participated in soccer, but with six returning lettermen and two other Sophomores on their team, the interest in soccer is running ram pant on Campus. Ed plays a very vital role in Behrend's Ath letic program. He is the president of the BCABC and it's 420 members. Ed spends many hours of work each week with his advisory staff pre paring for the monthly Booster Club meeting. Elected at the end of last year, Ed is the only officer the club has until the elections are completed. Ed is also one of the eight re turning Sophomores on the soccer team. "Chico" as he is known to his teammates, is primarily a half-back. Along with his athletic activi ties he is a mem ber of the Keystone Honor Society. Ed graduated from Cathedral Prep in 1966. While at Prep he lettered in track. His event was the high jump. Ed's contri butions to BC's athletic program are typical of his dedication to Behrend. SOPH-FROSH GAME The annual sophomore-freshman football game was played Sunday, October 1, 1967. The final score was 8-0 in favor of the sophomores. The winning touchdown was scored by Howie McGregor.
