Due to the spring -like weather on January 28, SKI HOTTDAY has been tempo rarily postponed. However, arrange ments are presently being made to re set the social event, possible March 4 if Old Man Winter lets us! Those who have given any payment towards SKI HO LIDAY will be reimbursed accordingly, unless th-v intend to hold their pay ment towards the re-scheduled date. Meanwhile, there's another winter ex travaganza brewing. It's here--TEE FIFTEENTH ANNUAL WINTER CARNIVAL WEEKEND--the fun fes tival of winter sports on February 10, 11, and 12. Just what happens during WINTER CARNIVAL WEEKEND? Well, here is the agenda of scheduled events: The "winter weekend" begins Friday night with a toboggan party followed by a picnic of sizzling goodies--hot cocoa, roasted marshmallows, and bar becued hot dogs. The best part about this deal is that you can eat all you want without a fee. Sounds good, huh fellas? A bonfire will be biazin' for you Cubs also. Saturday's events commence with Sno-ScUlpture and Sno-Ball Rolling. contests in the morning. This is your opportunity to let your mind run free. Build anything imaginable...an igloo, and Egyptian pyramid, a submarine, a towering totem pole. You name it, then build it. Members of the faculty and administration will be the judges for the cash awards. If Sno-Sculpture is not your "cultural bug" then Sno-Ball Rolling is down your alley. Partici- 0 CORRAL by Tom Lackovic pants will try to roll the largest snow- ball within a certain time element. These winners will receive "special" awards. (Hint: gloves, thermal underwear...) All awards will be presented at the dance that evening. Also, for your frolicsom fancies, there will be several snowmobiles available to rent at a reasonable rate; ten cents a minute. Saturday afternoon Behrend hosts Al toona in a wrestling match starting at 1:30 and is followed by the Behrend-Altoona bas ketball game at 3:00 P.M. in Erie Hall. The activities are highlighted by a semi- formal dance in the evening with the crow ning of the Winter Carnival Queen. Dancing will be from 8:30 to 12:00 to the senti- mental moods of CARMELS. Admission is only $3.50 per couple. No activities are planned for Sunday afternoon so that students can be alloted some time towards studies. However, WINTER CARNIVAL WEEKEND comes to a close Sunday evening with ice skating either at the Gler wood Ice Rink or at the tennis court behind the O. B. Building, depending on the tem peratures that day. Well, there you have it--a recipe for a fun festival of winter sports at Behrend Campus. So, before it's too late, make a date for that date, young mate! Meanwhile, the various committees will be working for the thrills, chills, and spills c' WINTER CARNIVAL WEEKEND.
