Phrases like "You're paying to go to school here; make the best of it," crop up so often that they have come to be trite. Another one goes something like, "If you want to be proud of your school, help keep it clean." Well, over use does not render these statements false; especially when they apply to the situation at hand. We are only one week into the term, and the situation in Culbertson Lounge is already deplorable. Candy wrappers and paper cups are strewn all over; cigarette butts cover the floors. The lounge is cleaned every day only to be littered again the next. Solutions to this problem have been offered in the past, and some of them have been effective. But it seems ridiculous to have to levy fines for littering or to have to close Erie Hall to every one because of a few inconsiderate people. The best solution is have each individual do part. Please do so. The NITTANY CUB editors welcome letters on vital tonics from all readers. These letters may be turned in to the editors, left in the CUB office or in the manila folder on the main desk of the Otto F. Behrend Science Building. The author of the letter must sign his name, but if he requests still to his own POLICY not to have his name printed we will comply.
