Recreation Department, the Tavern Summer Kitchen, which features “living his tory” demonstrations and educational programs and the Springhouse which was used for most of the refrigeration needs of the Tavern and the Dairy Bam during the 1800 s. The Centennial Bam and the Dairy Bam offer historic settings that can be rented out for family gatherings, weddings and other events. Fort Hunter also hosts concerts, informative lectures, and other educational opportunities all year long. Harrisburg is also host to the American Musicfest, which takes place over the July 4 weekend and includes shows at Riverfront Park and City Island. The event also includes Crab Fest, a riverfront festival of food, kiddie rides, sporting exhibi tions, riverboat rides, and a fireworks display. Still think there is nothing to do in Harrisburg? Ok, so Harrisburg is not a met ropolitan city like New York City, or Philadelphia, but the city has fun and inter esting things to do in addition to its many restaurants and nightclubs.
