by MARKO PRIMORAC STAFF WRITER The Student Government Association met on November 3, 2003 to discuss issues. After the approval of minutes, the Executive Secretary, Tiffany Turner, gave her report. She asked for all SGA members to provide her with their schedules for next sememster to be able to determine the meeting times for next sememster. The Treasurer, Autumn Fortney, reported that the FAA account has $17,211.46. The SGA account has $21,509.85. - The SGA restricted account is $194.98 The Finance Committee discussed realloca tion of funds. Junior Senator Ted Miller, engineering, motioned to postpone the alot ment of $3,000 to Tarnhelm until after their request is submitted to the SAF. Fortney motioned to allot RCC $5O for the cost of food and revoke $2OO. Vice President Anthony Strayer motioned to postpone the allotment of $3,000 to Tarnhelm, allot RCC $lOO and revoke $l5O, and to approve the rest of the allocations The motion passed, with five in favor, one against, and one absten tion. Representative Tim Holden visits Penn State Harrisburg Pennsylvania Representative Tim Holden came to Penn State Harrisburg and gave a 10-minute speech in the Towne Square. Holden said he was proud of the mili tary for the job they have done overseas in Iraq and stressed the importance of getting international cooper ation to help the effort. Holden also said that Pennsylvania's highways could be improved if the Bush administration would stop using highway funds to mask photo by Steve Standridge President Lee Cutchall welcomed Jennifer Smith, Junior Senator, engineering and Mary Carlin, Junior Senator, humanities. In addi tion, Garin Murphy was appointed to the Student Court. A change to SGA regulations was also made. SGA members attend ing Commonwealth Campus Student Government meetings must be present at all committee and counsel meetings in order to be reimbursed for any expenses. This change means that individuals could be held responsible for their own purchases, which is up to the discretion of Cutchall and Fortney. Cutchall stated that Police Services is working on installing and calculating the cost of equipment needed for updating the current security system. The meeting convened at 5:06 p.m. EST.
