Campus radio station to be on air by semester's end The lunch menus and fancy tables are not the only new addition to Penn State Harrisburg's cafeteria. In between those nooks - and crannies lie new offices and new facilities. The Capital Times and Student Activities are now located in the new wing. But you can find many students with their noses pressed up against the glass of our new radio station. Wait a second. PSH has a radio station? Well, sort of. Walt Pudlowski, a PSH communica tions student, is in charge of the new radio station. He will oversee organiz ing play lists, training and approving DJs and staff members and making sure everything "is remotely cool." The station has been deserted for quite some time now, with no members and no staff to broadcast. Details of why and how the station was terminated are inconclusive, but according to Pudlowski, WPSH should be up and running by the end of the semester. Pudlowski said that students can look forward to hearing a lot of variety on the station "Each DJ can play any type of music in his/her slot," said Pudlowski. "I plan to have a solid rotation list: Indie, Electronic, and Rap, however, there HELPsave A LlFE donate PLASMA YOU CAN RECEIVE UP TO First Time Donors Bring In This Flyer And Receive A BioLife $5 BONUS! It would focus on news, call-ins and interviews, something along the lines of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Tuesday and Thursday afternoons there will be a current events and a common talk show with guests and callers. With a full staff, WPSH hopes to broadcast between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. "As far as I know, the frequency boundaries are the parking lots," said Pudlowski. "This is due to the fact that there are several large buildings block ing Olmsted's frequency." Pudlowski said that eventually the school may put forth funding to expand the frequency range. "However, this is highly unlikely due to the shaky history of the station," he said. For now, WPSH's future is still up in the air.
