For more Students enrolled in sites near Pennsylvania's five nuclear facilities are eligible to receive potassi um iodide (KI) pills in the unlikely event of a radiological release. The Harrisburg campus, because of its proximity to Three Mile Island, is within the zone designated to receive KI pills. The Student Health Services office in W-102 Olmsted will manage the distribution of KI pills for all new students for Fall 2003 semester. You may pick up your KI pills 8 a.m.-7 p.m. on Mondays and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. Students are not required to pick up the KI pills, receipt is entirely voluntary! Your KI packet will include instructions for use and an information sheet prepared by the PA Department of Health. Please refer all medical questions to your health care provider.
