The Residence Community Council and the Yearbook Committee sponsored this event. For the first hour or so the event was off to a slow start with people still coming in and no one so much as going to the bar. The only draw back to that first hour and a half was that the music was three CDs playing on shuffle, which wouldn't be too bad if the selections weren't Enya, Nirvana, and something that sounded like the Star Wars soundtrack. At 7:30, Jan Miller, the president of the RCC, addressed the guests, thanking them for coming and introducing the rest of the RCC members that were present. The amount of guests present was about seventy with a couple latecomers still wandering in. It was after this that the buffet was opened and guests were sent up by tables. The buffet consisted of salad with many fixings, pasta, tortellini with alfredo sauce, shrimp in a garlic cream sauce, something that looked like veal (but I wasn't about to try that), chicken breasts with mushrooms, garlic bread, assorted rolls and desserts. I must say that the food was worth the $lO for the ticket, along with the Penn State shot glass dated 2002 that accompanied each place setting. Food and conversation carried on until a little after 8:30 when DJ Nicotine and MC Exodus called people onto the dance floor. After all that great food though, many of the guests were reluctant to dance. After some thrown insults from the DJ, 4 brave girls got up and showed the rest of the guests where the dance floor was. For the first hour or so of dancing, the female partygoers solely occupied the floor. Soon the men joined in and the party was in full swing up till 10:00 when this reporter snapped a few more pictures and took her leave According to Sandy Letto of Residence Life, there seemed to be more people present this year compared to last year with the number swelling to about eighty at my last guestimate. I would like to say best of luck to this years seniors, and I hope you all had fun not only at the Ball but throughout your college experience. The Dancing The Dinner
