Letter to the Editors, Food for thought Right now, I am sitting in the computer room . at school trying to concentrate. This is harder than it looks thanks to a person who is sitting at a computer talking on a headset as he looks at Internet sites. The person in charge of the room has asked him to quit talking and he tells the person at the other end of the phone and laughs. This person speaks in a foreign language and is probably getting his education for significantly less money than I am. His gratitude is nonexistent. Having been the wife of a military career person, I know that people in the military are always reminded that, "when in Rome, do as the Romans do." A common manner in this country is to be quiet in places of study, i.e. libraries, computer rooms. It is a shame when foreigners who are able to receive monetary privileges have the gall to act as if they are given a special set of rules as well! I am not writing this to all foreign students, but at this moment voicing my reaction to one in particular. Connie Goodell Hello! My name is Parul Luthra and I am the new president for the SGA 2002-2003 school year. I would like to take this opportunity to address each and every one you. Many will ask what makes me qualified to take the role of president, well the biggest thing my enthusiasm about the upcoming year and what the student body and I can accomplish to better Penn State Harrisburg. I am a Criminal Justice major, with hopes of entering law school. I believe I offer Penn State a different perspective, and ideas for a new era. Penn State brings to mind a great institution with a myriad of faces, ideas. Together we can achieve the heights of suc cess...together we can equip each and everyone of us with not only book knowl edge, but knowledge of the society we will enter. I implore you as students to let your voices be heard, and let me act as liaison between the students and the pro fessors, staff and administration. I wish everyone luck in the last few weeks of the semester and look forward to an exciting 2002-2003 school year.
