The Capital Times Their purpose on tour was not to make money, but to show the love of Christ throughout their music to kids all over the nation. The tour had its ups and downs: from relaxing nights in nice hotels, to restless nights sleeping in the van, and 20 hour drives from one show to another, stopping only to refuel. Devoted Molded played shows in Texas, South Dakota, Washington and California. The tour had been booked fully on the east coast, but when Devoted Molded and I joined up in the Midwest, shows were sparse. The abundant amount of free time gave us the opportunity to get to know the people in that area much better, as well as to stay with some of the kids we played for. We got to really share the mes sage of hope and eternal love with these kids because we were focused more on getting to know them and share with them than about the money. Yes, we made great money at times. And then there were the times where venues didn’t pay up to their agreement. But all in all, it didn’t matter because God was in control. When Christian bands go on tour X JCrflvr KJjLjmJ they rely on one thing, God. And he is the only thing you can rely on in all aspects of life with your family being second. But being on the road means you are away from the security and safety of your family. The tour gave us many great memories, as well as many learning experiences. We know now what to do and what not to do on tpur. I say that hoping and praying that God will allow us to go on tour again. There are so many stories from the tour, too many to mention. Perhaps the next biggest thing, besides ministering and sharing to the fans, was being able to get to know some great bands. For us, getting to know the young guys in Luti-kriss was the most memorable. They were six guys ranging in age from 16 to 20 and on the road only to serve God. Their music can only be de scribed as Holy Spirit-filled hardcore. For when they were on stage performing, it was as if the Holy Spirit was inside them. They opened up to us, allowing us to see Wednesday, September 8,1999 7 their fire for God, and how he works in their lives. There is so much I could say about this summer, and about the tour. But when all is said and done, it was about one thing. Not the music, the money, the fans, nor ourselves. It was about God. We were doing this for him. I urge you to not be close minded. We allow Live and Godsmack to sing about Allah, Buddah and Satan. Why can’t Devoted Molded sing about Christ and be good? Allow yourself to listen to the music for what it’s worth.
