M I E 9 S 9 2 New faculty joins staff at PSH Ten new faculty members, representing every academic unit, have joined the Penn State Harrisburg staff for the 1992-93 school year. The division of behavioral science and education has added one new member; the school of business admininstration, three; the division of humanities, two; the division of public affairs, one; the school of science, engineering and technology, two; and the Heindel Library, one. Eight of the new faculty members are teaching currently and two will start in the spring semester. New faculty members are: Behavioral Science and Education Rita Shell, assistant professor of clinical and community psychology. Shell holds a doctorate in social developmental psychology from Arizona State Univer sity. She has worked in the areas of The fa 111992 Club Fest. See story on page 8 for details. Business Administration Michael Davis (starts in spring 1993), instructor of information systems. Davis is a doctoral candidate in management information systems at Texas Tech University. His research interests include expert systems, software quality and system development. Janet Greenlee, instructor of accounting. Greenlee is a doctoral candidate in accounting from the University of Kentucky. She has taught courses in financial, managerial, inter mediate, advanced, tax and auditing accounting. Robert Larson, instructor of accounting. Larson's doctoral work has taken place at the University of Utah. His dissertation examines relationships be tween international accounting standards, equity markets and economic growth in developing countries. —Just ask for the WPSH SPECIAL-- 944-4141 Humanities Tace Hedrick, assistant professor of humanities and comparative literature. Hedrick earned her doctorate in comparative literature at the University of lowa, where she taught courses in interpretation of literature, narrative literature, lyric poetry and American lives. She earned an award for excellent teaching there. Fluent in Spanish, French and Portuguese, she lived for three years in Pakistan and four years in Guatemala. Alison Duncan Hirsch, assistant professor of American studies and history. Hirsch holds a doctorate from Columbia University with a major field in American Colonial History. She has worked extensively on Hannah Penn and was an editor of the papers of William Penn. Public Affairs Thomas Hickey, assistant professor of criminal justice. Hickey holds the J.D. from the University of Oregon and a doc torate in criminology from Sam Houston NEW SAC HOURS The Student Assistance Center has announced new business hours for the fall semester as follows: Monday-Thursday-10 a.m. to 8 p.m Friday--10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The career services center, financial aid office, international student advising, learning assistance center and student support counseling will follow the same hours as the student assistance center. Bui earned a doctorate in computer science from the Mass achusetts Institute of Technology. He specializes in research and teaching on algorithms. George Partridge (starts in spring 1993), assistant professor of engineering. Partridge's doctorate is in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee. He comes here from a position as project chemical engineer with Texaco U.S.A. in Port Arthur, Texas. Heindel Library Gary White, reference librarian. White is pursuing a master's in business admin istration at the University of Akron and holds the master of library science degree from Kent State University.
