Bates Capital Times Staff Students, staff and faculty members were treated to lunch with a little international flavor and culture in the Gallery Lounge on Jan. 29. Lunch With an International Flavor featured the West African nation of Ghana hosted by graduate student Daniel Aekah, a public administration major. Aekah, a native of Ghana, presented both historical and cultural information about Ghana. Aekah was assisted by Elizabeth Jacob, a native of Ghana. There arc 10 different ethnic divisions in Ghana which play important roles in the country's development. He said that women also played an important role in Ghana's national development. Aekah and his assistant wore kenite ( ken-lay) cloth. Once worn only by chiefs, this hand-made colorful cloth is now only worn during important occasions.
