more Tyson on 15 the better fighter that day by battering Tyson for the final two rounds before knocking Tyson cold with several vicious blows to the head. Watching those last few moments when Tyson's head snaped back left both the live and Television audience in awe. Tyson, the man who was such a heavy favorite there was no betting line on the fight in Las Vegas. This has been called the biggest upset in boxing history, and one and a half years ago it might have been. But since the dismissal of Tyson's former trainer Kevin Rooney, Tyson has not looked like the same unstoppable fighter as he once did. With the exception of a vicious knock out of James Quick Tillis, Tyson is starting to make average fighters look good. Frank Bruno was recently beaten by Tim Witherspoon before he shook the champion in the first round of their fight, and there is footage of Greg Page knocking down Tyson during a sparring session before the Douglas fight. In his loss to Douglas, Tyson's lack of quality training became more than obvious. It has been rumored that Tyson is in complete control during training, and his cornermen are nothing more then yes-men with no one clearly taking charge. Tyson may have great ability, but he is still very immature and needs guidance. This is obviously why he keeps turning to the likes of Don King and Donald Trump, both of whom didn't get where they are by being Help Wanted! Although, I've never admired Kevin Rooney as a person, he did keep Tyson a winner. What he did was speak his mind, even if it was this habit that got Rooney fired, that might be what Tyson needs now. Buster Douglas has shown flashes of being a very competent fighter in the past, but nothing gave any indication he had the ability to dismantle Tyson. But it was obvious he had done his homework. Every time Tyson charged him, he would widen his hands and Douglas would make him pay for it, repeatedly. A rematch might hold a few more surprises for Tyson. If he fights as sloppily as he did the first time, it doesn't matter what his motivation is; he will be in for a fight. Tyson's biggest problem is his rematch might be a long way off. When Douglas fights Tyson, it won't matter if he is still champ or not. He can almost set his price. So, Douglas would be bright if he fights George Foreman or Evander Holyfield first, or both. Win or lose, he would be guaranteed at least two multi-million dollar paydays. Another question would be what would the wait to get back in the ring with Douglas do to Tyson's frame of mind? Tyson has been known to let his emotions get the best of him and with a loss going unavenged for so long, there's no telling what effect it will have on him. In the end, Tyson is now like any other fighter waiting for his shot at the heavyweight title.
