Sharon Cole, a senior education major, and Mary Elizabeth Wert, a senior public policy major, are petitioning the Student Government Association to reinstate a college Republican club which has been extinct at Penn State Harrisburg since 1978. Cole, who serves as appointed chairperson to organize the club, said she hopes the re-formation of the club would "help students interested in politics and leadership to apply classroom theory and have some hands-on experience in understanding the ends and means [of politics] before going into the real world." College Republicans are involved in political activities at national, state and local levels, said Cole.
