break and opened the new year
with a 25 - 0 drubbing of Drexel
College this past Saturday at
Middletown Lanes. The win
upped the Pinman's record to 3
- 3 overall, and moved them into
3rd place in the nine team

land Intercollegiate Confer
ence.

action. Rounding out the squad
are Bruce Rambacher, Jeff
Hartman, Mike Henry, and
Jack Dean.
The bowlers will face
Bloomsburg State College on
Sat., Jan. 27 at 1:00 at the
Middletown Lanes in the Mid
east.

The team figures to hold
their own, however, against
such stiff competition. The Pin
men have already rolled against
P.S.U. Main Campus, which is
the 4th highest rated team in
the nation. Although they led
going into the last frame, they
were unable to hold on, as Main
Campus rallied for a 16 - 9
decision. The match against
Bloomsburg State is free, and
anyone is welcome to come and
watch.

Colman Wet Adidas: Confer
.The Counseling Center is
pleased to announce that Ms.
Karen Meck, a post-master's
level graduate intern from the
Department of Counselor Edu
cation at Millersville State Col
lege, will be available as a
Counselor in the Counseling
Center to meet with students,
faculty and staff. Ms. Meck will
be working 20 hours a week
throughout the winter and
spring terms and will be avail
able Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday
afternoons as well as Wednes
day and Thursday evenings
from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
On Friday, January 12,
Good People Productions held a
rally for the spring concert in
Vendorville. Jack Rivers provi
ded the entertainment for Cap
itol Campus students. Mr. Riv
ers is from New York and in
late February is due to go on
tour with Jackson Browne. He
has gone on tour with Jackson
Browne before and has also
gone on tour with such groups
as Electric Light Orchestra and
BSII Plans Mud
The month of February has
been designated "Black History
Month" by the Black Student
Union during its meeting Jan.
17.
Two activities are planned:
a disco-dance keggar to be held
on Jan. 30 and a trip to Phila
delphia on Feb. 10.
The keggar is to have a
theme connected with "Black
History Month." Posters ad
vertising the keggar have been
put up around campus.
The trip to Philly will in
clude a visit to the Black His
tory Museum and maybe a
stop-over at the Mother Bethel
Church.
The Black Student Union
will meet every Wed. at 1 p.m.
at the Student Center.

Capitol Campus Child Develop
ment Center will be open to
care for 3 - 5 year old children of
Penn State students from 7:45
a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Call 787-7782

Ms. Sara MacDonald, the
Pennsylvania Bureau of Voca
tional Rehabilitation Counselor
for the Capitol Campus, will
have new and expanded hours
in the Counseling Center. Her
new hours will be from 9: a.m.
to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays.
GPP concert
the Beach Boys. Mr. Rivers
currently has a single out called
"You're My Hiding Place" and
has just recorded an album
which will be released shortly.
GPP will hold a meeting Mon
day January 29 at 3:00 in the
Gallery Lounge. All People in
terested in working at the
concert are asked to attend.
Peace Corps
Jim Dupes, a Middletown
native who spent two years in
the Peace Corps in Malaysia, is
taking a course at Capitol this
term.
Dupes is ready, willing and
able to talk to individuals about
Peace Corps possibilities.
If interested, call the Place
ment Office at 787-7985 or
787-7777 and ask to make an
appointment with Dupes. He
will then get in touch with you
and set up a time to meet with
you.

Paul K. Francis, an under
graduate in the Water
Resources Engineering
Technology program on campus
was the recipient of the Mr.
Charles P. Hary Memorial
Scholarship presented at the
campus commencement cere
monies held in Dec.
A gift of the Capitol Campus
Faculty Women's Club, this
scholarship was given in mem
ory of the late Mr. Charles P 1
Hary, assistant professor of
engineering at Capitol.
Mr. Francis was selected to
be the award recipient by the
Capitol Campus Committee on
Academic and Athletic Stand
ards, Awards and Scholarships.
Francis, has maintained a
perfect 4.0 grade point average
in his course work at Capitol,
thus demonstrating the high
level of academic achievement
required of the memorial schol
arship winner
